EvolveImmune Therapeutics is a next-generation immunotherapy drug discovery and development company based in the Yale/New Haven biotechnology ecosystem with laboratories in Farmington and Branford, CT.  EvolveImmune is leveraging a novel in vivo CRISPR-based target discovery platform to develop a broad portfolio of first-in-class immunotherapies for unmet medical needs in oncology and immune diseases.

 

The Role

 

We have a position open for a part-time biology intern.  The ideal candidate is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a science discipline. This individual is good at following protocols, communicating with others, and keeping clear records of their work. Some laboratory experience is beneficial but not required.

 

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working in a team and is excited to experience conducting science in a biotech environment. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is excited about drug target discovery and wants to supplement their studies with an industry experience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide laboratory support for scientists working in biology at EvolveImmune, which includes general laboratory practices (making buffers, cell culture), molecular biology (isolating DNA/RNA, cloning, PCR), biochemistry (protein gels, western blots, ELISA), and cell engineering (overexpression or knockout and their validation).
  • Work with a mentor within the biology group at EvolveImmune to learn all necessary laboratory procedures and carry them out efficiently.
  • Keep detailed records of experiments in electronic notebooks, analyze data and discuss with relevant research team members.
  • This paid internship is school-year-long (August-May) part-time (20 hours per week) commitment in-person at EvolveImmune’s laboratories in Branford, CT, limited to individuals currently enrolled at US colleges or universities.

 

Qualifications

 

Currently pursuing a B.A./B.S. degree at a US college or university.

 

Experience

 

General laboratory skills are nice-to-have but not required. Ability to follow directions, keep clear records, and pay attention to details are required.
